Moonlight

I love the full moon and the effect it has on the dark landscape.

I've been fascinated since childhood by its

silver light and ink black shadows.

Someone on Instagram commented on the symbolism of this quick sketch.
I hadn't given much thought to the deliberate placement of the animals.
Of course, the hare and moon are intrinsically linked.
A quick google search led me to this lovely post.

I particularly love this quote:

The symbol of the moon-gazing hare is almost universal and dates back to ancient times. It symbolizes fertility. Pagans believed moon-gazing hares would bring growth, re-birth, abundance, new beginnings and fortune.
